# BoltShare > BoltShare (boltshare.in) is a free, browser-based tool for sending files of any size from one device to another. There is no file size limit, no account, nothing to install, and files are never stored on a server: they stream live from the sender's browser to the receiver's while both pages are open. ## Key facts - Price: free. Supported by ads, with no paid tier and no premium limits. - File size limit: none. Works for a 1 MB PDF or a 100 GB+ video folder. - Accounts: none needed, for sender or receiver. - Install: none. Runs in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iPhone. - Storage: files are never saved on a server. The sender's tab must stay open until the transfer finishes. - Two transfer modes: Bolt Tunnel (default) streams through a relay on Cloudflare's network and works on almost any network, including office, school and mobile networks; Direct P2P uses WebRTC to go device to device. - Encryption: Direct P2P is end-to-end encrypted (WebRTC DTLS). Bolt Tunnel is TLS-encrypted to and from the relay, which forwards data in memory and never writes it to disk. - Resume: if either connection drops, both sides reconnect and continue from the last byte the receiver confirmed. - Large files: received files are written straight to disk as they arrive, so multi-gigabyte transfers do not fill browser memory. - Folders and multiple files arrive as a single ZIP. Links can also be shared as a QR code. - Best for: sending large files right now to someone who is online at the same time. Not suited to "upload now, they download tomorrow" — use an upload service like WeTransfer for that. ## Product - [BoltShare — send large files free](https://www.boltshare.in/): The tool itself.
